Ready for Mariah

Sometime within the next few weeks, my wife will give birth to our first child. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am overcome with joy as I think about this blessing God has given us.

I plan to take my job as a father very seriously.

With God’s blessing my wife and I will do our best to help our daughter grow.

I will change her diapers.

I will feed her.

I will bath her.

I will walk her.

I will do her hair, “Yes, I said, do her hair.” (If necessary J)

I will take her to school

I will help her with her homework

I will take her to after school activities

I will see her off to summer camp.

I will scare any would be boyfriends away.

I will disagree with her.

I will see her off to prom

I will attend her high school graduation.
I will attend her college graduation.

I will walk her down the aisle.

I will make mistakes, but I will own up to them. No matter how hard things get, I will love her. No matter what decisions she makes, I will love her. When she falls, I will be there to pick her up. When she succeeds, I will be there to cheer her on.

I will lay down my life for her, because she is my daughter and I love her.

I think I am ready.
